Civil Engineering, WASH, and the Coronavirus

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

Check out this article from an American Society of Civil Engineers professional engineer on the importance of civil engineering and our WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) infrastructure in combating the Coronavirus.

The ASCE offers that WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene practices) is one of our best lines of defense against an outbreak like Coronavirus. Billions of people around the world lack adequate WASH infrastructure, including in the U.S.

It will be important to use all preventative measures possible to avoid exposure to the Coronavirus, as outlined in previous posts. We should all work together and share what expertise we have, whether our role is engaging in preventative measures or responding to and mitigating the effects of the Coronavirus.
