ASSP Safety 2025 Conference: Award and Presentation

Photos from the recent American Society of Safety Professionals Safety 2025 Conference in Orlando. We each received a plaque honoring our paper “From Hard Hats to Helmets: The History & Future of Head Protection” which won the 1st place 2024 PSJ Article of the Year award. This Professional Safety Journal is distributed monthly to over 36,000 members.

The current and former staff of L A Weaver Co., Inc. (author bios at bottom of page) who contributed to the final PSJ publication include Jessica Kemp, B.A. Cum Laude NCSU Communications, William Ojiambo, ASP and B.S. Cum Laude NCSU Mechanical Engineering, and Anna Simmons, B.S. Magna Cum Laude Clemson Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences. This writing project began in April 2023 and culminated with the final product's blind, peer-reviewed publication in August 2024 with multiple reviews and revisions mandated by the society's editorial review board.

We also gave a presentation on "The Future of Head Protection" with Ricky Reams of Murphy Company Mechanical Contractors & Engineers and Cam Mackey of ISEA (photo immediately below on left) to the conference attendees.
