Weaver Co., Inc. is an Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Consulting firm providing expert witness representation, on-site consulting, training/technology transfer, and technical writing. We are currently seeking an applicant with an engineering background to assist in lawsuits and private consultations and other functions..
This is a part-time paid internship position (10-15 hours per week) with the possibility of extension.
Provide research, engineering, and administrative support to the staff for forensics type work in personal injury lawsuits.
Recognize, assess, and propose engineering and administrative controls for occupational health hazards and safety concerns.
Review case documents to determine the cause of the accident through an engineering or technical standpoint and present findings and recommendations through graphic illustrations such as SolidWorks and similar modeling programs.
Assist with preparation of findings, opinions, and criticisms for opposing parties in suits based on scientific and engineering principles, usual and customary industry means, methods and practices, and regulatory laws, standards, and guidelines.
Currently a junior or graduate student pursuing a degree in mechanical, civil, biomedical, environmental, and industrial and systems engineering or other related field.
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and have an interest in occupational/environmental safety and health.
Good knowledge of data analysis and demonstrated experience using SolidWorks and other modeling programs.
Highly motivated and possess the ability to work independently with minimal guidance as well as in a team environment.
Maintain confidentiality regarding case documents and parties involved.
Must be available for at least 6 months.
Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, and ISO standards
Technical writing skills
Intermediate Microsoft Office and IT skills
